I needed a preamp to run a KRK RP-6 Rokit Powered Reference Studio Monitor for my 50" samsung family room plasma. The built in speaker is lousy so I had to change it.
The new speaker cost $104.99 shipped from music 123 and it sounds great for a simple TV speaker. The bass and mids to lower highs is very good. Being it is a self powered speaker I needed a preamp and after searching around I found a refurbished Onkyo TX8522 Stereo Receiver w/ XM Radio Tuner for $122.27 shipped. It has a preamp out with controlled volume. It's amazing how inexpensive you can find gear if you take the time to look! |
