Receiver setup & GUI

Hi...do I really need a TV connected to the receiver to set it up? I mean I do not have a HD TV yet and initially I only intend to use it with my CD player until I get a bigger place and room - so will I be able to "easily" setup the receiver and all the speakers without being able to look at a GUI? (must be a stupid question)....

If you are only using it with a CD player, then I assume you are using two speakers correct? You pretty much can just make the connections and go then.

Further options depends on which receiver you have. Some can be done from the front panel, some not.

Which receiver are you using?

Well, I haven't bought one yet - but it will be probably one of HK-745 or one of the new ONKYO or YAMAHA ones (I forget the model nos.)
