Today, I am trying to understand why I get no audo
from my JVC/ Hybrid svhs/harddrive unit. I am replacing wires, substitute of different things and I have been at this for two hours. Had the Geeks put a VU meter on the panel of the unit I could tell if it was being fed a signal from the Cable Receiver through analog video as Jvc is always behind the curve and offered NO digital audio outputs. (Original Price $1200) I have been working part time by Texas Instruments promoting the DLP sets at Best Buy and I can tell you the industry as sucessfully confused the consumer completely. The Geeks are running everything and the marketing guys must be the gofers in the CE industry. Hell, without the remote its a major problem just to turn these things on (Samsung excepted) Sony and others need to put the Geeks in the back of the corporate bus. |

Imagine if HDMI actually worked?
A would plug into B and into C and people would upgrade without fear. Hmmm.... Where does this exist in the market? How about Apple who's stock soared from $9.15 (when I owned it a few years ago) to over $200 this week (and no, I don't own it and YES I am an idiot)

The biggest problem is that the geeks think it's all so simple to them it must be simple to others or easily learned. That is where they are wrong. It is out of control and even good ideas have gone bad. It's just getting worse too. BD has no idea what can of worms it opened with it's new 1.1 and 2.0 standards. They are just going to confuse buyers into purchasing that HD DVD player that just works and with all discs. |

So there is still hope. I just hope there is no HDMI 1.4 ... We need more simplicity and one cable and one cable type is certainly simple and the honest right answer. The problem is that I pick up a new DVD player or next gen player and look at the back and I'm given a multitude of wiring options. This is still confusing. It would be a lot different if the only output was HDMI. About Apple... I always got confused by the one button mouse. The thought of it still sends shivers down my spine. |
