What are your favorite older pieces of gear? You know, the things you had, or still have way longer than anything else, or those pieces you've sold and wished you never did?
For me, I still keep a pair of JSE Infinite Slope speakers, well actually two pairs, the 1.0 and 1.8's, one day I might buy another one and make a 5.1 system out of them but for now they are only occupying space. Some others I would nominate; Aragon 4004 MkII amp Linn LP12 (even though it's still in production) Carver Cubes as they revolutionalized what we all thought of power amps Mark Levinson ML 2's Technics SL1200 TT as it was indestructible! Proceed PCD3, a shoe box looking CDP that still sounds good by todays standards Nakamichi Dragon Cassette deck, the coolest of the cool from the magnetic media days Adcom 555 I will think of more, but these are some that have been opn my mind. What older gear would you put on the list?

Aragon 8008. The "V" vent in Aragons was a neat look.
Martin Logan CLS. An all electrostat solution from the hybrid guys. VTL Wotan. A 1250 watt tube monoblock tube amp!?!?!? I like the sound of the new Siegfried but it's only 800 watts. Something about 1250 watts in a monoblock is uber cool. Wadia 860 CD Player. Still possibly one of the best CD players I've ever heard. Linn Sondek CD12. Like the Wadia... but still made today (I think). How about KLH9s does anyone remember them? |

I would have gone with the Wadia 861 w?GNS mods... ummmm The CD12 was stopped as Linn was running out of replacement parts, but I can't believe I forgot that one!

The CLX has been like a carrot dangled in front of me for over a year now. It was "soon," then too.

FWIw the new ML subwoofers have a setting for matching to the CLX's, so they are coming, when is the question, and Andrew Robinson has been drooling since he heard of them....
