Firmware updates - Unidisk 1.1
I just had to comment on how amazed I am with the difference that a simple firmware upgrade can make on the sound quality of a CD player.
My unidisk 1.1 which I think is an outstanding player was recently updated with the latest firmware from Linn (227). The differences were not small. More detail everywhere... deeper and powerful bass. More air around the instruments and what seems like a blacker background. Nothing else in my system was changed. It's truly an art creating the algorithms which turn PCM data into smooth analog signals. Anyway - if you have a Unidisk and are running ESS 223 - I HIGHLY recommend upgrading to 227!! Jim |

I can't imagine how thrilled you must be.
The player KICKED ASS before the update. I have heard it on my occasions.
