the 970's dvda capability was disappointing compared too my Tosh, 970 relegated to my daughter's room
The 980 is better but still not in the same league as the tosh, which was one of the 1st dvda players on the market.
Both the 970,980 sizzle too much on most sacd's I play on them. Prefer the hybrid layer thru my mod'd pt gear/ddspro on most of those, not all but most
Course for $150 I probably shouldn't complain too much

I'll assume that this is SACD only, doesn't work for me...

My plan is to get a older uni and dedicate it as a sacd/dvda player, have just picked up a used Pio 59avi for that.
Will use the 980 for movies & dd/dts, I have no issues with the unit in that regard.
Lets see how that works out.
