Hi, I am new to this forum so Hi to everyone.
My question is as follow. I´m planning a 5.1 system with in-wall speakers. The problem is that the manufacture doesn’t have a centerchannel in their product line. So if I´m using three identical stereo in-wall speakers up front that shall I think of with the centerchannel? Shall I install it “standing” or horizontal like an ordinary centerspeaker? The speakers are two-way speakers so no D’Appolito. Best regards |

Standing. If it is not designed to be used horizontally you will get comb filtering at the crossover points if you lay it on its side.

Thanks for your answer, but I got another question. What do you mean with "get comb filtering at the crossover points " ?
I thought this would be the answer (that I hade to install it "standing"), that’s why it´s strange that so many good speaker manufactures don´t have center speakers in their line up. Because now the plasma screen has to be mounted much higher than I would like it to be. So maybe LCR is the way to go. |

speaker manufacturers build their speakers to phase align either in a verticle or horizontal plane. You don't want to change that orientation. If you do, you can get cancellations at the speaker crossover points depending on where you sit in the room.
